Overall Review: About a year ago, I bought an Acer Timeline X laptop, I noticed that my DL speeds were fast, one day I decided to get a 2nd laptop, an Acer E1 series and decided to renew my Fios contract, upgraded to 50/35 from 25/25 and noticed that this laptop was getting a max of 20Mbps whereas my Timeline X was getting the full 50Mbps.Ĭhecked the device manager in the TimeX and notice that it had a Centrino N6205, open my Acer E1 replaced the original (broadcom Wireless) for the N6205 and now the Acer E1 is getting the full 50, but up to 58Mbps. This Wireless N6205 chip is amazingly fast. Reinstalled Windows one day, put this card back w/o no updated drivers, now I'm getting up to 58Mbps on my 50/30 connection. So, I put the old slower card and connection was fine but 20Mbps slower than the 50 rated. Why?
